Who We Are
TOADS (Type One Area Diabetic Support) is a nonprofit organization based in Amarillo, Texas, serving the Panhandle and surrounding areas. Our mission is to provide compassionate, barrier-free support to individuals and families impacted by Type 1 Diabetes—through financial relief, community connection, and trusted local resources.
We help families get what they need to thrive—not just survive.
How It Started
When Bray was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at just 3 years old, his family saw firsthand how overwhelming and isolating the journey could be — especially without local support. TOADS was created to change that.
What began with one child’s story has grown into a powerful network of families, advocates, and community members united by one goal: to make life with T1D a little less hard, and a lot more hopeful.

Meet the Board
TOADS is guided by a dedicated group of individuals who live and work in the Amarillo Panhandle. Many of us are parents, caregivers, and advocates with personal ties to Type 1 Diabetes. Together, we work to ensure that no T1D family has to face this journey alone
